We first came across DissertationCapital.com during our search to find online writing services that focused solely on theses and dissertations for graduate students who were finishing up their Master’s or Ph.D. programs. It has been on our list for evaluation, and we recently completed our full investigation of this writing service, so that we could provide graduate students with an honest and objective DissertationCapital review. We have used the same criteria for this evaluation as we always use, including the site content, Dissertation Capital testimonials also found on the company website, and others comments and feedback that we locate throughout the Internet. We also placed an order for the company’s “free draft,” received that draft back, and made several attempts to contact the customer support department.

Quality of the Services Offered

The company site states that it opened its doors in 2004 and has thus been providing services for six years. Given that this is 2016, and that the copyright on the site is 2010, we are concerned that nothing has been updated since that time.

The site states that it provides writing, editing, and proofreading for any or all sections and chapters of theses and dissertations only. In fact, that is all that can be ordered. In terms of product and service quality, we would state the following:

Our DissertationCapital reviews of the site content reveal some of the poorest writing we have ever seen for a writing service. It is obviously the work of non-native English speaking writers and is full of structural and grammatical errors.

The “free draft” we ordered and received was a one-page summary of a topic that we provided, and, again, the piece was disjointed, lacked coherence, and full of grammatical errors.

Dissertation Capital student reviews were wholly negative, and many students stated they had filed complaints with the company to get their money back.

Writers and Support Agents

The company boasts writers from the U.S., UK, Australia, and Canada who are “accredited and certified.” Given that there is no certification or accreditation of writers, we wonder what they mean. Further, they state that many of their writers are former professors and/or research experts. This is probably not the case and was certainly not the case for our “free draft.”

We attempted to get in touch with support agents on several occasions. The live chat feature is ultimately answered by a message which states that there are no live operators available at the moment and instructs the customer to leave a message. We left several which were never answered. When we attempted to call, we received only a “busy” signal. We never spoke with a support agent. This is cause for grave concern, along with our discovery of numerous DissertationCapital.com BBB filed complaints.

Prices and Discounts

DissertationCapital prices per page are not published, although there is a pricing calculator into customers provide number of pages and deadline dates. We priced an entire dissertation of 140 pages with a short deadline and received a quote of $4040.00 after DissertationCapital.com discounts figured in.

Other than the discount which appears to be offered with every order, there are no other DissertationCapital promo codes available. We read through the entire site to determine if there were any other ways to get further discounts through a DissertationCapital coupon code and found a listing of codes based upon number of pages for returning customers. These discounts ranged from 10-21%.

Additional Freebies and Benefits

The one benefit that this company touts on every page is the ordering of a “free draft,” before placing an order and paying for it. There is also a statement about free revisions.

Do We Recommend It?

We seriously question whether Dissertation Capital is safe at all. Given that the site has not been updated since 2010, it is unlikely that updated security measures are in place. As well, given the number of complaints and our experience, we would advise that no one utilize this company’s services. Our Dissertation Capital rating is “Very Poor,” if not dangerous.
